Fishability QLD has witnessed, first-hand, individuals sustaining tenancies, by feeling connected to community and being involved with a group who cares for them. Our motto is “Fish and forget”; however, our day-to-day service is “doing with, not for”. Fishability QLD also advocate for individuals through regular support and contact and ensures that no man or woman is left feeling like no-one is there for them or that their lives have no meaning. Healthy exercise, and getting out there, is not a common occurrence in the lives of most people experiencing vulnerability. Fishability QLD is dedicated to breaking down the barriers of social isolation and bettering people’s lives through; skills and capacity building community access & support and outdoor fun.  "Fish and Forget"

The Community Fish-Off

The “Community Fish-Off “is a great opportunity to meet new people, build on skills and capacity and of course go fishing. The CFO's are held on multiple locations throughout Brisbane and the wider suburbs. Fishability QLD’s team host socially fishing events from platforms and piers provided by the Brisbane City Council and the Queensland Government - all of which have accessible facilities and no boat is required.

Due to successfully partnering with the Brisbane City Council through the Health and Physical Activities Grant, we now also have more opportunities to go fishing. We started the Hard Core Haulers Community Fish Off this year. We are a smaller group so this means we can fish at better times when the fish are biting. You will need to call ahead for these events, to book your fishing equipment if you require it, which is at no cost.
